Padmapriya is ready to go nude!

Padmapriyahas come a long way from her Kaazcha days. This long-legged dusky beauty is nowwaiting for the release of Jayaraj’s Naayika. Supposedly a biopic ofyesteryear heroine Sharada, Padmapriya plays the young Sharada’s characterin the movie.
“The fact that I have to do the role ofsuch a fine actress is what made me sign the movie,” says the actress.Naayika is her second movie with the ace director.“He is someone whoknows his craft well. I am waiting for him to come out with thismasterpiece.”
Padmapriya was all set to leave for the US forher higher studies. She was planning to do an MA in Public Administration fromNew York University. However, she has postponed the trip. “But thatdoesn’t mean that I am saying goodbye to films,” she clarifies. Forthose who think that she is going out of radar, she says she will be around.“I will be coming home for every break and I am planning to do moviesduring that time.” So why higher studies now? “I want to enrich mylife.” She hopes to make good use of her time in the US. Art classes,theatre ... the list go on. “I hope to do a lot more than juststudies.”
For an actress who has given several flawlessperformances for the past seven years, she still feels that she hasn’tdone anything! “I am not a good actor. There is much more to do andlearn.” Her screen presence has become limited now. “Because Irefuse to play mother. I am comfortable doing glamorous roles and have no qualmsgoing nude if the character demands it. I am not against the idea of lookingsexy. But I don't like women being looked at as mere objects ofsex.”
She recently did her debut Bengali movie, Aparajita Tumi,based on the novel Dui Nari Hatey Torobari by Sunil Gangopadhyay. Directed byaward-winning director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhry, the movie is completely shot inthe US. “I play Kuhu Das Gupta and my character is very interesting. It isone of the best screenplays I have ever read. The film has the best technicalcrew I have ever worked with.”
Padmapriya has also bagged aninternational project on which she refuses to comment. “In any language, Iwould like to do my best!”
